Franklin Pierce Lake Suggested Wake and Speed Zones
Please Join Us In Protecting Our Beautiful Shoreline
Let's work together to prevent shoreline erosion-just check your wake.
The Franklin Pierce Lake Association invites you to join our efforts to preserve our waterfront. If we all check our boat's wake and make sure it doesn't adversely affect the shore, we can keep our shoreline safe and beautiful. Please refer to the map for suggested wake speed and wake zones for different areas of the lake based on the distance from shore coupled with the depth of the water. Thank you for being a great neighbor and helping us protect our lake!
RED AREA
NO WAKE TO LESS THAN A 6" WAKE
Approximately 300 feet (the length of a football field) from shore, with water depths less than 12 feet. Please try to avoid generating any wake in this area by maintaining headway speed.
YELLOW AREA
MORE THAN 6" BUT NO MORE THAN 12" WAKE
300 - 600 feet (one to two football fields) from shore, with water depths between 12- and 24-feet. A moderate wake, suitable for water skiing, jet skiing, and cruising at any reasonable speed is fine in this area.
GREEN AREA
ANY WAKE OF ANY SIZE
Center area of the lake, well away from shore, with water depths more than 20'. In this area, all boats, including wake boats, at any speed, generating any size wake, are acceptable.
