Why should you be concerned about the health of Franklin Pierce Lake?

Simply put, if you appreciate the value of your property and its surroundings, you need to care about and be active in maintaining the health and water quality of Franklin Pierce Lake. Poor water clarity and pollution combined with increased weeds and exotic plants have a direct impact on your waterfront/water view property value.

How will my dues be spent?

There are costs associated with running the programs we have initiated or would like to initiate. The most significant expenses are:

  • Paid Lake Host – In 2016 we received a grant of $1000 which our association supplemented with $500 to pay for a part time paid Lake Host.
  • Water Testing - Volunteer Lake Assessment Program (VLAP) – The cost of analysis for each set of water sampling we do will costs about $60. The NH Department of Environmental Protection has recommended 3 rounds of sampling for us each year.
  • Web Site Hosting – While all the work to create and maintain the FPLA web site has been done by a volunteer, Richard Loveland,  it costs FPLA about $125/year to have it hosted.
